      <title>Panasonic | Heat Pump Installation | Shropshire 2025</title>

         Panasonic Aquarea - K Series T-CAP Heat Pump Installation - Shropshire 2025

           An initial site visit had been arranged to meet with our Client to evaluate the practicalities of having an air source heat pump installed within the property. One of the important factors is that our Client could not have the unit close to the House as there was no practical location for the heat pump to be installed. One location was too close to the neighbouring farm land fence and the other location did not offer the correct clearances and the heat pump would face directly into potential strong winds so neither option was suitable. The garden to the rear of the property had a slight upward gradient and looked as though it had the potential but the type of air source heat pump would be the crucial factor in this scenario as the suggested location would be approximately 8 meters away from the House. A hydraulically split air source heat pump would have needed a trench in which pre-insulated 35mm equivalent pipes would need to be laid in. Upon reaching the House, the 35mm pipes would need to convert to copper pipe and then be surface mounted to where it would route up the external wall, through into the loft space and then down into the airing cupboard. On this project that approach had no appeal due to cost, a more simplistic approach was required to make this project seamless. The refrigerant split Panasonic Aquarea K Series offered the best solution as it would mean we could come up with a solution that would have the unit sited in a location 8m away from the House, a trench with a ducting could house and protect the pre-insulted 1/4" and 1/2" refrigerant copper pipes and power cable, as the pipes reach the House we could use surface mounted trunking to neatly house the pre-insulated refrigerant pipes, the trunking would route the pipes into the large loft space where the Panasonic Bi Bloc would be mounted on the gable, from the Bi Bloc the Secondary Space Heating Flow and Return copper pipes would pass down into the airing cupboard to supply the 3 Port Valve and the DHW Cylinder. Although this was the most suitable solution we knew that some groundwork preparation would be needed and we knew some form of a wind barrier would certainly be a necessity to ensure the heat pump performance wasn't affected by any strong winds. 
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           Upon completion of the new system a full demonstration of the use of controls were shown. Our Client downloaded the Panasonic Comfort Cloud App so controlling the system from a smartphone could be done seamlessly and with Client consent the new system was registered on the Panasonic Service cloud which offers great peace of mind for Clients as the new system can be remotely monitored by Panasonic Technical and Installation Company for performance and future maintenance. This is a free of charge service offered by Panasonic. Also the Panasonic Equipment has a 7 Year Warranty.

            A full Handover Pack has been issued for our Client which included:

           Heat Pump Defrost Cycles
          &#xD;

            The video below gives a brief example or an introduction to a defrost cycle. Heat pumps will naturally carry out a defrost cycle when the outdoor ambient temperatures are quite low. To defrost the heat pump uses heat from the system to quickly de-ice and resume normal operation. In some instances during winter this can occur a few times a day but in many instances it goes un-noticed.

         We had recently carried out an installation of a Daikin Altherma 3 HHT High Temperature Air Source Heat Pump with a 230L Floor standing Integrated Tank for our Client in Shrewsbury, Shropshire. The installation which was carried out in July replaces an old and inefficient oil fired boiler. The oil boiler was in the Garage which adjoins the Main House so it made sense that this was where the new Daikin Integrated Tank would go in its place. The new Daikin HT heat Pump was installed to the rear of the property. 
         &#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
           Whilst carrying out the unpacking we had noticed a small dent on the packaging which had also made a small dent on the heat pump panel. An image was taken of it and our Daikin Sustainable Home Centre was notified. 
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
           Within just a few days a new replacement panel was shipped directly to our Client's home coordinated by the Sustainable Home Centre. Although the small dent did not affect performance of the unit it just shows how important great customer service delivery is by not only Daikin UK themselves but our Shropshire Daikin Sustainable Home Centre.
         &#xD;

            Today I went to my Client's Home to carry out a follow up visit and to replace the panel with the new one. It was a pleasure to listen to the feedback about the performance of the new system and that my Client is now on a cheaper Heat Pump electricity tariff. Naturally I went straight to the Energy Data Menu for the Consumed and Generated figures to see performance. Since Installation a SCOP of 3.50 is already impressive considering it has mainly been used for Domestic Hot Water and not so much Heating due to the warm weather. Being One Zone of Radiators and controlled by the Madoka I personally feel that the energy performance figures will improve furthermore once the Heating is in use more frequently through the colder months. Currently the Weather Compensation for Heating is 50 Degrees when - 4 Degrees Outdoors and 35 Degrees when 15 Outdoors. The Hot Water Set Point is 50 Degrees.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            I wanted to do a short post on this particular Installation because of the Customer Service support and Aftersales which is highly valuable in my opinion. I feel it is important to highlight the levels of support a Client has when opting for Daikin. Firstly the Installer and Client relationship is the initial level of support for not just the project but for aftersales too. The regional Daikin Sustainable Home Centre plays a major role for support not just for the Installer but for Customers also. Most SHCs have a Daikin Showroom where Customers can visit the Centre and speak with a Representative and also view the Range of Daikin Eco-friendly units on offer. Our Shropshire SHC Representative is very proactive and will quite often visit site and engage with the Installer and the Client, great levels of support.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            The Sustainable Home Centre is the Supplier for the Installer also so logistics are efficiently coordinated with Daikin UK, the Installer and the Client. The levels of Customer Service the SHC provides in my opinion is absolutely fantastic and carried out with great Professionalism.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            In addition to the SHCs we have our Regional Daikin Executive whom not only coordinates daily with SHCs and Installers but also is plays a proactive roll with projects in their Regions.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           When it comes to levels of support and aftersales Daikin really do set the bar high in my opinion and this installation is a prime example of ensuring Customers are Happy.

            The new equipment within the Garage was installed as compact as we could as the Client would be putting other Utility goods on the same wall so the Daikin 20L Volumiser was mounted horizontally to ensure sufficient space for the Utility goods. The controller panel on the Tank houses a WLAN SD Card which enables the system to be paired with WIFI and also so that the Client can use the Daikin Onecta App to control the system. Behind the control panel is the Hydrobox area within the Integrated Tank. This is where the Magnetic Filter is for future maintenance. The indoor pipes within the Garage have been insulated with Primary Pro 19mm wall as have the external pipes to the outdoor unit. For Power Supplies, the Consumer Unit is also in the Garage but as there were not enough spares on the buzz bar we added a new Mini Consumer Unit to accommodate our 2 new Fuses which supply power for the outdoor unit and power for the Back Up Heater within the Integrated Tank.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            In the Hallway in the Main House the Madoka is mounted to the Wall and controls the room temperature.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            The outdoor unit has the Condensation Drainage Elbow piped directly into the grid behind the unit. Prior to the installation our Client had levelled the flagstones on which the new unit would sit to ensure a solid base. All in all the installation has been kept as minimalistic and simplified as possible. Being internet connected it can be controlled from our Client's smartphone.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            This system has a Daikin 5 Year full parts and labour warranty, MCS Certificate with Insurance Backed Guarantee, Building Compliance Certificate and the Client has also received the £7,500.00 Boiler Upgrade Scheme BUS Grant. Really looking forward to the first service to see the SCOP Performance figures. In the meantime we thank our Client for their valued custom and look forward to seeing them next year.

           Choosing The Right Air Source Heat Pump For The Project
          &#xD;

         Most projects will differ from one project to the next whether they be retrofit projects or new build projects. Once an initial site survey and heat loss calculation has been conducted it is only then can we decide what unit or brand of unit would be best suited to the project. As well as efficiency performance and costs, other factors to consider when selecting the unit include for example ease of installation, ease of wiring, connectivity for control from the app or smart device, ease of use for end user, smart grid ready, aftersales support, ease of maintenance and the eligibility for the Boiler Upgrade Scheme.

           Why Do I Choose Panasonic Aquarea Heat Pumps?

            From an Installer perspective there are many factors that have really impressed me so far with the Panasonic Aquarea range.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            So far I have carried out installations of the J Series units including the mighty J Series T-CAP on retrofit projects, the new K Series R32 Refrigerant Split I installed in our Business Premises for our own hands-on and more in depth product familiarity purposes and more recently I installed the new L Series R290 9 kW unit with the All in One cylinder on a new build/self build project.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           Piping Up
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            All of the models have been very simplistic to install whether from a hydraulic perspective or from a fridge split perspective (the K Series refrigerant split was very easy to connect the indoor &amp;amp; outdoor units due to just 2 flare connections at the ODU and 2 at the IDU). From a hydraulic perspective, Panasonic suggest hard piping the unit without the need for flexi connectors. There are measures within the outdoor unit that counter any vibration noise so Panasonic give the option to pipe straight to the unit. Antifreeze valves can connect onto Lever Valves at the Flow and Return connections and this configuration keeps the pipework seamless.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           Wiring Up
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           The new K and L Series are very straightforward to wire with just one interconnecting cable between the indoor &amp;amp; outdoor units. All models require two separate power supplies as there is a built in Back Up Heater inside the indoor unit on the K &amp;amp; L and inside the outdoor unit on the J Series so the supplies are straightforward and as for wiring the indoor unit from the supplies all the terminals are easily accessible.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           Filters 
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           The J Series has an easy access panel on the outdoor unit which enables access to the magnetic filter/strainer whereas the All in One unit which comes with the K &amp;amp; L models has an easy to access magnetic filter housed within it which is great for future servicing. 
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           The Controller
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            The Panasonic Controller menu is a pleasure to navigate, not in any way over complicated and even has an easy to use Quick Menu. On the Controller, on some of my installs I have used the Controller as the Room Thermostat for better efficiency.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           The Network Adapter
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           Connecting the Panasonic Network Adapter to the K &amp;amp; L All in One is a very simple process by housing the Adapter within its pocket inside the AIO and plugging in the cable on the PCB whereas with the J Series the Adapter cable is wired to the outdoor unit. The process to connect the Adapter to the Wi-Fi is the probably the easiest I've seen so far and connecting the Client's device to the Adapter has been straightforward.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           My own opinion from a wiring perspective is that the new K &amp;amp; L Series are that little bit easier due to there being just one interconnecting cable.  
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            Once the system is live and the Client's smart device is paired with the Comfort Cloud App, I like the way Panasonic go way further by offering the Client the opportunity to register on the Panasonic Service Cloud. This is at no extra cost to the Client but with the Client's consent the Manufacturer and the Installation Company can remotely monitor the system for performance and for future maintenance purposes. It really is a fantastic concept for that extra peace of mind.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            As a Panasonic Pro Partner I can offer 7 Years full parts and labour Warranty upon commissioning of the system which again is great for the Client.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            The k &amp;amp; L Series Heat Pumps are in Anthracite Grey and look as though they could naturally blend in to almost any background. As for sound I found that the T-CAP model was surprisingly really quiet for its size and capability and I found the R290 L Series even quieter than the K Series. On sound, the Panasonic Controller has a Quiet Mode setting which has 3 levels to reduce the dBA levels further.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            Panasonic also offer some of the best COP and SCOP efficiencies in the UK heat pump marketplace.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            In this section I have tried to highlight what positively appeals to me with the Aquarea range from an Installer perspective. The Panasonic Aquarea range of heat pumps are very, very good performing units, the technology is capable of delivering great efficiency figures and quite soon even properties with a much larger heat loss will be able to have a heat pump solution with larger capacities soon to be available from the R290 M Series range with Capacities up to 30 kW.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           The R290 units due to their high flow temperature capabilities are ideal for many retrofit solutions that have older radiators for example. R290 refrigerant performs so well reaching flow temperatures of up to 75 degrees for heating using less energy meaning that even Homeowners living in the more harsher winter climate areas can confidently switch from fossil fuel and enjoy a greener way of heating their home.
          &#xD;

           When first looking into having an air source heat pump installed it is helpful if Homeowners can get more information and Case Studies can often help and provide answers to some questions they may have.             Personally I really like the K Series as it seems to be the way its done more commonly in Europe by connecting the indoor and outdoor units simply using refrigerant pipes just like air conditioning. Connecting in this manner eradicates the necessity for glycol, antifreeze valves, filter ball valves, lever valves and compression type connections normally associated with hydraulic split units with a flow and a return pipe. The other factor that appeals to me is that the outdoor unit can be installed much further away from the indoor unit which helps on projects where the outdoor unit needs to be further away from the house we can offer a solution with a refrigerant split unit.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;

           Upon commissioning of your new system the Controller Settings would be configured to suit your needs whilst delivering the best efficiency but as time goes by you will still want to see how your energy consumption and your energy generation is looking. The Panasonic Controller has a great little setting which is easy to navigate to. Here, in Energy Monitor you can see Consumption, Generation and COP (Coefficient of Performance).             With the installation aspects every project is different whether a new build or retrofit. For the best part of 2 years Geberit Mapress Fittings have been used for my pipework in most cases except for tight areas where the Geberit Press Tool cannot practically fit. Using Press Fit Copper Fittings reduces the need for soldering and hot works. For outdoor insulation we have began more recently using Primary Pro Insulation as it is a very good 19mm wall insulator and for internal pipes 19mm Arma seal or Climaflex is the go-to. For refrigerant pipes 13mm wall insulation. For the indoor plant, in most cases and where possible I prefer to ply-line the wall with 3/4" smooth finish so the furnishings can be mounted in a neat fashion.

            Panasonic Aquarea L Series 9 kW R290 Air Source Heat Pump With All In One

           The images below are of a recent L Series installation which was for my Client's self build Home. The first fix for the installation was carried out in February and consisted of installing the Primary Flow &amp;amp; Return pipes which are in 35mm using 35mm Copper Mapress Fittings. The pipes ran from the airing cupboard upstairs to the location outdoors where the unit would eventually go. Along with the Flow &amp;amp; Return I installed the Discharge Pipe again in 35mm copper. The Discharge pipe terminates outside with a Tower Guard over it. The pipes were tested and sealed until the second fix which was in August. I had also ran the Interconnecting Cable
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            ﻿
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
      
           . My Client had boarded out the airing cupboard so the fixtures could be fitted to the wall in a neat manner. My Client had his Electrician fit the Supplies in place within the airing cupboard also. The pipework connections to the outdoor unit is very minimalistic with Inta Lever Valves and Antifreeze Valves with Primary Pro Jackets and Insulation. The Weather Compensation is set at 40 degrees when -5 outside and 30 degrees when 15 degrees outside so we should see some fantastic performance figures from this installation. A return to site in the next few days will be carried out to carry out final checks and a full commission of the system and prepare the Handover Pack. Overall I really like how minimalistic the installation is. The All-in-One is absolutely fantastic and Panasonic use a technology called U Vacua which incorporates state of the art multiple layer insulation for even higher efficiency for the cylinder within the AIO.

         In todays world we are focussing more and more towards ways in which we can be kinder to our planet. We are increasingly thinking of ways we can have cleaner, healthier air within our spaces, seeking ways we can improve on how efficiently we heat and cool our homes and workspaces whilst reducing our carbon footprint at the same time and in many instances across parts of rural and semi-rural Britain we are seeking ways to free ourselves from expensive fossil fuels which can be harmful to our environment.

           It is apparent that we urgently need to change the ways in which we heat our homes and buildings and move away from harmful fossil fuels where possible and Air-to-Air renewable technology is one of the ways we can achieve super-efficient performance for both Heating and Cooling whilst lowering our carbon emissions.

          know all about Air Conditioning and released their very first Home Air Conditioner in 1958 and with over 6 decades of experience Panasonic are synonymous with efficiently heating &amp;amp; cooling buildings globally. Chronologically, by 1972 the 'Room Heater/Air Conditioner' was released. By 1993 Human Detector Sensors were incorporated into the Air Conditioner and by 2008 Panasonic released Air Conditioner with nanoe to provide healthier air. Now in 2024 Panasonic offer a wide range of high-performance Residential and Commercial Air Conditioners, some of which have 3rd Generation of nanoe X built in. As a Pro Partner for Panasonic we are very passionate about the complete RAC range but one particular product that we really wanted to put to the test was the Panasonic Etherea with nanoe X.

          now comes with nanoe X technology with the benefits of hydroxyl radicals. With advanced control options, class-leading performance and intelligent features, Etherea is designed to make your home or workplace comfortable, clean and the ideal place to be. Panasonic has meticulously designed a new Etherea for a sleek and stylish solution to blend with any interior. Its elegant monolithic design is robust and allows for a high-performance air conditioner, with a large air discharge area to optimise performance. With this in mind we wanted the Etherea installed in our product review facility where we could dive right in to the technical matter of the system and obtain a much wider understanding of how well this system really can perform so that we can be super confident that our clients are having one of the best performing units on the market. The Energy Efficiency rating for Etherea is up to A+++ in both Heating and Cooling.

          We had set up an area that would enable us to install the system to Manufacturers Instructions. This gave opportunity to carry out our normal F Gas procedures, wiring procedures and to carry out the Manual's testing &amp;amp; commissioning processes. We found that the installation process and the wiring was very straightforward and there was plenty of space to the rear of the wall mounted Etherea for the condensation hose, cable and insulated pipes. 
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          Our system (a Single Split) consisted of the CU-Z20ZKE 2 kW Deluxe Inverter Outdoor Unit with a 2 kW CS-XZ20ZKEW-H Wall Mounted Charcoal Etherea Inverter Split (also available in Silver or White). Our Etherea model has the Wi-Fi Kit built in and Generator 3 nanoe X as standard. It can be easily connected to the Comfort Cloud App for ease of use from a smart device but for our testing we used the Menu on the Remote Controller which comes with the kit along with 2 x AAA Batteries. Up to 5 Etherea units can be connected to one Outdoor Unit (Multi Split).

          When the system first started we found our system really quiet and this was a test scenario with both units inside the building so that was pretty impressive straightaway in our opinion. The Fan setting was set to Auto at that point. The Remote Controller has an impressive and extensive Menu and it is from the Remote that we activated the nanoe X. Providing protection from certain Bacteria, Allergens, Pollen, Odours and Particulate Matter, this Generator Mark 3 technology can release 48 Trillion Hydroxyl Radicals per second to provide you with cleaner, healthier air.           During operation the End User has the option to either have nanoe X ON to clean the air as it operates or to turn nanoe X OFF and let the unit operate in heating or cooling without nanoe X.

          The system is seamless to operate from the Remote Controller and the Mode Button enables you to Switch from Auto - Heat - Cool - Dry. The Powerful Button will enable the End User to reach the desired temperature much faster. We tested the Powerful operation and it really ramps up but in testing we found the Etherea quickly delivered impressive heating and cooling temperatures in normal operation alone.

          Following the testing and commissioning procedures we wanted to explore more of the Menu and we switched from Auto and set the Fan Speed to Maximum to see if this would affect any increases in sound from the units. Overall it is a very impressive system with fantastic performance and looks great too.

          The rating for Sound is 19 dBA for the Indoor Etherea unit Quiet Operation. We were really impressed how quickly it achieved the set point temperatures so efficiently keeping you warm in winter and cool in the summer really is a breeze.

         Being a proud Business Partner of Daikin UK, we are extremely passionate about their Heating and Cooling products. The Daikin Emura from the Air to Air range was one particular product we wanted to put to the test at our product review facility. 
         &#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          In our opinion the Daikin Emura is amongst the best Air to Air (Air Conditioning) units on the UK Market and we wanted to witness its performance for ourselves to develop a deeper understanding of its ease of use, ease of installation and to improve our product knowledge from both Installation and Technical perspectives. In addition, because we feel that the Daikin Emura could be ideally suited to Homeowners and some Commercial Property Owners looking for an efficient and eco-friendly Heating &amp;amp; Cooling System for their properties we wanted a much deeper understanding of the product so we could therefore transfer that understanding to our clients. 
         &#xD;

          This particular system consists of the Daikin Emura wall mounted indoor unit (

          ). Once we installed the system we were able to carry out our normal F Gas refrigerant procedures and commission the system and from there we could carry out our tests. 
         &#xD;

           Sound

          Daikin describe the Emura as being whisper quiet. The Sound Pressure goes down to 19 dBA but interestingly the additional 'Indoor Unit Silent Operation' feature reduces operation sound of the indoor unit by 3 dBA. In our tests we were immediately impressed how quiet the system was.

          When in Heating Mode the Intelligent Thermal Sensor glows an Orange colour. 
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          The Intelligent Thermal Sensor determines the room temperature and then distributes air evenly throughout the room space before switching to an air flow pattern that directs the air to areas that need it most.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          On initial start up for heating it was super-impressive to see how quickly the Emura reached its Heating Set Point. A point worth mentioning is that there is also a Heat Boost function available to enable the Heating Set Point to be reached quickly but during our tests we felt the system performed exceptionally well without the need to use Heat Boost. 
         &#xD;

           Although the
          &#xD;
    &lt;/font&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;a href="https://www.ofgem.gov.uk/environmental-and-social-schemes/boiler-upgrade-scheme-bus" target="_blank"&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;font&gt;&#xD;
        &lt;b&gt;&#xD;
          
             Boiler Upgrade Scheme
            &#xD;
        &lt;/b&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;/font&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/a&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;font&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;font&gt;&#xD;
        &lt;font&gt;&#xD;
          
             has been going since 1st April 2022 there has been a significant number of instances where that when we have initially spoken with some Customers it was discovered that they were not aware of the availability of the BUS scheme, of their own eligibility for the BUS or how to apply, some even thought the process may be too complex and this deterred them from applying. Even with many Manufacturers using a variety of media campaigns to promote their Heat Pumps and to raise awareness of the BUS a significant number of Homeowners and Property Owners are not fully aware of how simplistic Ofgem have made the Application Process (subject to all eligibility criteria being met). So the question is, how do we proactively raise more awareness so that we as Installation Companies can assist more Customers make the switch to a greener, more efficient heating &amp;amp; hot water solution and receive the
            &#xD;
        &lt;/font&gt;&#xD;
        &lt;b&gt;&#xD;
          &lt;a href="https://cdn.website-editor.net/s/f59603b79e1242709ae802ee479baecb/files/uploaded/bus_guidance_for_property_owners%2520_v3.0.pdf" target="_blank"&gt;&#xD;

               financial grant funding from the UK Government
              &#xD;
            &lt;/font&gt;&#xD;

             to help make that positive switch? My own initial thoughts are to share some of our recent projects with the aim being to show how seamless the application process was in each case and also to show that retrofit projects can be also just as seamless in most instances.             - April 2024 - Panasonic Aquarea J-Series 9kW Air Source Heat Pump
           &#xD;

            During one of my earlier phone calls with my Client prior to the Survey we discussed the current set up within the property. The heating system consisted of an oil fired floor standing boiler in the kitchen which was supplied by the oil tank in the garden. The system had one zone of radiators and a 200L hot water cylinder with storage and expansion tanks in the loft. The challenge for the Client was that the boiler was beginning to fail and was just shy of 20 years old and in addition the oil tank in the garden had a slight crack in it and therefore was in need of replacement.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            My Client explained that the he had been advised the cost of replacement to another oil system could be quite costly and he expressed that he would prefer to make the property more eco-friendly. I explained that providing he met the Ofgem eligibility criteria for the Government Grant the £7,500.00 could contribute to him making the switch, but he did not know there was such a Grant available. I sent the
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;a href="https://www.ofgem.gov.uk/publications/boiler-upgrade-scheme-guidance-property-owners" target="_blank"&gt;&#xD;
      
           BUS Guidance For Property Owners
          &#xD;
    &lt;/a&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            information for my Client via email and I also explained to him that it is the Installation Company that makes the application on the Client's behalf and that the Client only need make available all of the required documentation that the BUS Team will need as they begin to process the application. Personally I feel this is where some Customers may feel the process is too complex but it really isn't as long as all of the criteria has been met and that all necessary documentation has been made readily available. In this particular project the application was made by ourselves the Installation Company on a Thursday, all requested documents were securely forwarded to the BUS Team and by Monday the following week the application was approved and a Voucher ID was issued.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            Upon completion of the installation the system was fully tested and the commission was carried out. The system was left running for a week to monitor its performance and upon returning to site the performance figures were very impressive and the house had maintained its 21 degrees which we set it to the week earlier. The COP figures for the week were very impressive at 4.6, great performance (some may say that is
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           460% efficient
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            at the time). The initial configuration of the Weather Compensation was 50 degrees Maximum Flow when -3 degrees outdoors and 37 degrees Minimum Flow when 15 degrees outdoors. The Set Point for the new hot water cylinder was 50 degrees. The tank temperature was reduced to 48 degrees and the Maximum Flow was reduced to 48 degrees to aim to achieve further efficiency from the system. *I mention COP quite often
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           (Coefficient of Performance)
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            as it is what we are striving toward to achieve a high COP and SCOP
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;

    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;

            for our Client's, the more efficiency the better Value For Money.

    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            A Handover Pack was presented to my Client which included along with other important documentation, an MCS Certificate, Insurance Backed Warranty, a 7 year Panasonic Warranty and user guides. An application to redeem the Voucher was also submitted. In just over a week from submitting the redemption application the Voucher payment was received and reimbursed to My Client.

  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;

            We have since returned to the property and upsized the lounge radiator in attempts to get even higher performance from the system.

           On initially visiting my Client's property to conduct the Survey we discussed the project in detail and decided on the most suitable location for the proposed heat pump which would be to the rear of the property and obscured from view. The system at the time was an oil fired floor standing boiler in the kitchen supplying one zone of radiators and a small hot water cylinder with storage and expansion tanks in the loft. 
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            Once the room by room heat loss calculation was concluded we quoted for the Panasonic Aquarea J-Series T-CAP 9 kW unit as this was the most suitable unit for the property. Upon our Client's approval to proceed with the project an application was made for the BUS. In anticipation our Client was advised to have available the documentation that the BUS Team would likely request in order to keep the process smooth and avoid delays. Upon request we forwarded the documentation to the BUS Team and within a few days we received confirmation of approval.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            **It is worth mentioning at this stage that the Homeowner need do nothing more than provide the relevant documentation to the Installation Company, it is the Installation Company that makes the application and communicates with the BUS Team throughout the process.

      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;

      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            Once the installation had been completed the system was fully tested and set up to run. The Weather Compensation had been set and the Hot Water set point set. The
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;

            Controller was used as the Thermostat to achieve better performance from the system. The system has the Internet Gateway to pair with our Client's Wi-Fi so that they can control the system from their smartphone using the

    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;

            We returned to site a week later to check the performance figures (a whopping 5.6 COP), obtain feedback from our Client, to flush the system again and to check the filter was clean. The Regional Representative from Panasonic also came to site along with our main Supplier, Farr &amp;amp; Harris, which was a really good opportunity for the Client to share their feedback, ask any other questions and for the Manufacturer to be satisfied the installation was to a high standard. We also obtained Client permission to register their installation on the
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;

            which enables the Installation Company and Panasonic to remotely monitor the system for performance and also for any future maintenance purposes.

    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            Following the visit to site the Handover Pack was prepared for our Client including a
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           7 Year Panasonic Warranty
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            and an application to redeem the BUS Voucher was submitted. Within just over 1 week our Client was reimbursed the £7,500.00 BUS Grant payment.

            On initial discussions with our Client, we talked in great detail about where the most suitable location would be for the outdoor unit. The challenges were, that the proposed heat pump could not go on the patio to the rear of the property due to clearance requirements and the location at the side of the property would not allow the pipes to pass straight through the wall to the inside as there was an electrical cupboard under the stair well. The only viable option was to surface mount the primary pipes in trunking to enable us to get the pipes on the landing where the airing cupboard was. The decision was made to go with the externally mounted option as it was the most practical and kept the primary flow and return reasonably short. The proposed system would be the 7 kW

            Following the Heat Loss Calculation and the preparation of a competitive quotation our Client gave the green light on the project and an application was submitted for the BUS Grant. Within 4 working days the Voucher was approved and a date was set for the project to commence. To keep the project as smooth as possible we agreed on carrying out a first fix stage which would entail rolling back the carpet on the landing, raising the floorboards, accurately measuring for the primary flow, return, discharge pipe and comms cable. We could then precisely core through the brickwork to outside. The trunking was mounted and the pipes were installed and the protected comms cable was run. We opted for Primary Pro Insulation and ArmaSeal Insulation for minimal heat loss and to meet MCS Standards. Now we could off-hire the Quick Tower that we had needed to work safely at height, the floor on the landing could go back and the carpets laid as it was. We would now only need to work at ground level for the heat pump and in the airing cupboard to work on the Sunamp and the wiring on the second fix. Site left clean and tidy with minimal disruption.

            The Second fix was dependant on the delivery date of the Sunamp as it is delivered by a Specialist Company, that have the equipment to transport the Sunamp upstairs (yes it is very heavy). The guys from Zonzini did a fantastic job on delivery day and from the time they carried the Sunamp off their vehicle it was upstairs next to the airing cupboard in under 8 minutes. There is a cost involved for the Specialist Delivery but there would have been no other safe and practical measure to get the Sunamp up the stairs.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            Now that all we required for the second fix was now on site we agreed the start date. We coordinated the Electrician to go first to upgrade the breakers on the Consumer Unit and to put in the new supplies. Once the Electrical aspects were carried out the heat pump and the new Sunamp Thermino could be installed. It is worth mentioning that one of the reasons the Sunamp was chosen is not just for its high performance but the airing cupboard was only 500mm wide so this would limit us from putting a cylinder in that was say 560mm and the slimline cylinder options were too high and restrict us from installing the other equipment in the AC such as the volumiser, heat pump interface and the expansion, the Sunamp was ideal for this project and works very well with a Vaillant heat pump.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            The system was fully tested and commissioned upon completion and the Curve has been set. My Client is really happy with both the performance of the Sunamp and the Vaillant aroTHERM and is very passionate about listing the new system on the
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           OEM (Open Energy Monitor)
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            as are we and hopefully this will occur within the coming weeks. Following up with our Client, although the house gets very warm he wants to lower the flow temperature even more so to get further performance efficiency from the system so we are discussing perhaps upsizing 3 or 4 of the rads also to get that extra efficiency.

    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;

    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;

            From the time of submitting the application to redeem the Voucher the process took a week and a half to complete and our Client has been redeemed the BUS Grant of £7,500.00

            . We have the Hot Water Setpoint at 70 Degrees as per Sunamp settings for the phase change to occur. We have a set schedule for the DHW once per day. Keeping in mind that the Heat Pump delivers the required flow temperature of 70 Degrees to achieve this it really is impressive.

  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;

            For the Heating aspects we do not expect the heating to be on much over the summer months however, the Weather compensation curve is set at 0.4 and the typical flow temperature is 35 Degrees @ 6 degrees so we should see some promising data once we start to use the Heating more frequently. In recent heating cycles we have witnessed very good COP figures. For the coming summer months much of the data will be DHW but to achieve these kind of figures with such a DHW setpoint it really does show how fantastic the technology is.

      <title>Trefonen, Shropshire - A Daikin Altherma HT Retrofit Success</title>

         &amp;#55356;&amp;#57155; I had received an enquiry from a lady named Susan regarding an Air Source Heat Pump for her new Home in Trefonen, Shropshire. I had arranged a meeting with Susan and her Husband Philip to discuss the project in more detail. After carrying out a visual inspection to establish the suitability for an air source heat pump we then carried out the task of obtaining the room sizes and volumes, the window sizes and door sizes and checked the levels of insulation in the loft spaces. It is with this information a Heat Loss Calculation can be carried out and with this total KW figure I can determine the size of Heat Pump KW Output Capacity at the system design temperature that will be ideally suited. Whilst on site we also discussed the plan for the new proposed extension that Susan and Philip would eventually be having I needed the architect plans for this as this too would need to be included in the Heat Loss Calculation. 
         &#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          Whilst on site I had also noted what Electrical supplies would be required to supply the proposed new equipment. The 'Boiler Room' that adjoins the property was the chosen location for the indoor unit which would be the Daikin Altherma HT Integrated Cylinder and to the rear of the Boiler Room outside wall the proposed Daikin High Temperature Air Source Heat Pump would be installed. Susan had a builder that would prepare a solid base for the new Heat Pump. With regards to the heat emitters, the proposed plan would be that the existing radiators upstairs would remain in place until the builder upsized them and the downstairs radiators would be replaced once the builder began the extension with new underfloor heating. 
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          &amp;#55357;&amp;#56481;With retrofits there is so much more to be mindful of than with a new build project. For example the existing radiators and the existing pipe diameters to the radiators must be taken into consideration as to ensure the best performance from the system it may be that some or all radiators need upsizing and or the pipe diameters may need upsizing. With Susan and Philip's home I also needed to consider the U- Values of the Lounge and Snug as they were solid stone walls which would impact the Heat Loss. 
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          After an in depth site visit I departed Susan and Philip's and the following day carried out the Heat Loss Calculation using the data I had obtained from site. It was determined that the EPRA18DAV37 (High Temperature Heat Pump) and the ETVH16SU18EA6V would be better suited to Susan and Philip's home. &amp;#55356;&amp;#57313; The Heat Pump has to meet 100% of the Heat Load even when the outdoor ambient is as low as -2.7 Degrees to meet MCS Standards. The software used to calculate auto adapts according to geographical location and elevation and this particular calculation adapted to a system design temperature of -3.9 Degrees C.
          &#xD;
    &lt;i&gt;&#xD;
      
           As the Total Heat Loss was 11KW, the EPRA18 with a flow temperature or Leaving Water Temperature (LWT) of 50 degrees provides 11.57KW at -2 degrees ambient outdoors and at -7 degrees outdoors it delivers 12.4 KW. It can also deliver with a 55 degrees LWT (Leaving Water Temperature) it provides 12.11 KW at -2 and 12.47KW at -7 degrees outside ambient.
          &#xD;

           The indoor unit has a 6KW Back Up Heater (BUH) built-in too! Great performance!&amp;#55356;&amp;#57151;&amp;#55356;&amp;#57151;&amp;#55356;&amp;#57151;&amp;#55356;&amp;#57151;&amp;#55356;&amp;#57151; 
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;

          The software produces a Full Heat Loss Report provides lots of information including but not limited to the individual rooms, the heat loss for each individual room, the required radiator size for the room and the Leaving Water Temperature at the System Design Temperature. 
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          The project had to be unexpectedly brought forward as the oil fired boiler that Susan and Philip had had kept breaking down and they were concerned about paying for further expensive repairs and paying for their oil tank to be refilled so it made sense for them to bring the project forward. 
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          The order was processed for the Daikin Goods and Materials so we were now in the hands of logistics lead time as the pandemic had caused quite a disruption of shipping, production and logistics and although like most other Manufacturers Daikin were doing their utmost to deliver on their advised lead times, even with the best will in the world some production delays were out of their control. There would ultimately be a delay with one of our units which would mean we would need to wait longer for our delivery. The Regional Representative for Daikin is a terrific, proactive guy named Doug and he along with Farr and Harris who are the Regional Daikin Sustainable Home Centre went to the ends of the earth to ensure our delivery would arrive on the advised lead time delivery date but we did experience the delay which was out of the control of all parties but had it not been for Doug and Anthony we may have experienced slightly longer delay. My concern was I did not want Susan and Philip's Oil boiler to break down again and leave them without hot water or heating. We all kept each other in the loop the best we possibly could and then thanks to joint efforts from Doug and Anthony I was informed I could expect delivery of the order! I quickly relayed this welcomed information onto Susan and we made arrangements to for someone to be home when the delivery arrived.
          &#xD;
    &lt;i&gt;&#xD;
      
           There's nothing quite like seeing a Farr and Harris vehicle arriving with your Daikin delivery, game on!!  
          &#xD;

          &amp;#55357;&amp;#56481; One of the things that really impresses me with the Daikin Sustainable Home Network is that there is a sense of everyone trying to their best to deliver the same positive result for the Client. To explain further, Doug is the Daikin Technical and Sales Executive for Shropshire, his aim is to ensure the Daikin Sustainable Home Centre for Shropshire (Anthony - Farr and Harris) has everything he needs to deliver a high level of service to Installers and to Clients across the Shropshire Region and that the Showroom has all the latest models from the range on display and the latest product information. Together they are quite a dynamic team and set the bar high. This then provides a great framework and strong support network for the Installers such as myself that are Sustainable Home Installers. Ultimately leading to great service delivery for the Client. ✅
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          The Installation went smoothly and the system was set up and configured. Daikin, through their Sustainable Home Network concept send their own Daikin Engineer or Service Partner to fully inspect the installation to firstly ensure it is installed in accordance with the Manufacturer's Installation Manual and then they carry out a significant number of tests prior to commissioning the system. A full Daikin Commissioning Report and Certificate is provided a few days following the visit. What really impressed me on this particular visit is how meticulous the Daikin Engineer was in his testing procedure. It was discovered that the indoor unit had not received the latest software prior to despatch and so a Daikin Senior Engineer followed up with a visit a couple of days later to update the indoor unit. He then carried out a full test and inspection to ensure the system would now be flawless in operation. Again, impressive service delivery! ✅ 
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          Susan and Philip were eligible for the Boiler Ofgem Scheme which is the Ofgem £5,000.00 Grant towards their installation. An application if successful, the Installer then receives a BUS Voucher. Upon completion of the installation and once an MCS Certificate has been provided for the installation the Installer can then apply to redeem the voucher. Normally payment of the Voucher would be processed by the BUS Team in around 3 weeks however, we were subject to an Ofgem Audit as it was my very first project on the BUS Scheme so there was a delay with payment whilst the Audit was conducted. The Audit was fantastic for the Client because not only had Daikin provided 2 site visits but now Ofgem too would scrutinise the system to ensure all was to MCS Standards, that the system had been set up to operate efficiently and that the Client had been shown a good demonstration of how to use the controls. There was a thorough evaluation not only of the installation but of the Handover Pack that I had provided for Susan and Philip to ensure all my Documentation was in order which it was. As the BUS Scheme was still relatively new at the time procedures took quite a while, even by Ofgem's own admission they were still finding their feet. Following the delay the BUS Audit Team had said all was approved following a successful Audit and the  Voucher was redeemed a few days later. ✅
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          Like many projects there were some minor teething problems with the slight delay with lead time, the short wait to receive the latest update for the indoor unit and the Ofgem Audit but looking at things from a positive perspective, the lead time delivery eventually came and the oil boiler lasted until the new system could be installed. The delay also meant that Susan and Philip did not waste all of the oil they had in the tank and did manage to use more of it. The Daikin inspection discovered the latest software was required and in just a couple of days they had installed the latest software. Ultimately 2 Daikin Engineers had thoroughly inspected the system. The Audit also provided further confirmation that the new system was not only specified and installed correctly and to MCS Standards but the Handover Pack was all in order and that the system had been set up to run at an economically efficient setting. I personally think this is confidence inspiring and a good demonstration of efficient service delivery. 
         &#xD;

          I am very grateful for the opportunity to carry out the Daikin project for Susan and Philip and I thank them for their valued custom. I will be looking forward to carrying out their first Service and to see how their new extension turned out.
